Trials of Osiris: New Trials Gear, Cosmetics, and Weapons Revealed
Bungie has outlined major changes coming to Trials of Osiris, including a new map rotation system, refreshed Trials rewards, a new armor set, new cosmetics, and a large weapon pool update.
The changes are part of the Monument of Triumph update, and Trials players should pay attention before launch: Trials engrams will be reset at launch, so spend any saved engrams before the update goes live.
New Trials Armor Set: Cruel Electrum
The new Trials of Osiris armor set is called Cruel Electrum. It comes with armor set bonuses focused around Primary ammo weapons, radar manipulation, and clutch situations.

Cruel Electrum Armor Bonuses
- 2-Piece Bonus: Primary Survivor — When an ally is defeated, Primary ammo weapons gain improved handling, reload speed, target acquisition, and reduced flinch. The bonus grows stronger when multiple allies are down or when playing solo.
- 4-Piece Bonus: Primary Phantom — Primary ammo weapon final blows remove you from radar for a short time. Swapping to a non-Primary weapon immediately ends the effect.
This makes the set especially interesting for players who rely on Primary weapon duels, solo queue clutch plays, and radar control.
New Trials Weapon: Willful Hamartia
The new Trials weapon is Willful Hamartia, an Arc Adaptive Burst Linear Fusion Rifle.
Linear Fusion Rifles have often had a strong place in endgame PvP depending on ammo economy and archetype tuning, so Willful Hamartia will be one of the main weapons to watch when the new Trials loot pool arrives.

Bungie is also bringing back a large selection of Trials weapons with updated availability. The reprised Trials weapons include:

Trials Engrams Are Resetting
One important detail: Bungie says Trials engrams will reset at launch. Players with saved Trials engrams should spend them before the Monument of Triumph update arrives.
After the update, new Trials engrams and score-based end-of-match rewards will be able to drop the new gear.
What This Means for Trials Players
The biggest change is the new map rotation structure. Trials should no longer feel locked to one map for an entire weekend, and the three-pool system gives Bungie room to keep popular maps weighted while still adding variety.
The reward changes are also significant. Cruel Electrum looks built around Primary weapon confidence, radar control, and clutch situations, while the new Bonus Focus Pools should give players more reasons to keep playing across different Trials weeks.
Between the new armor, Willful Hamartia, returning weapons, Lighthouse pool, and cosmetics, Trials of Osiris is getting one of its biggest reward refreshes in a while.
Quick Summary
- Trials weekends will now rotate up to three maps.
- Maps are selected from three different pools.
